Wayne County Court Cases Now Online

//  by Christopher McAvoy

When I need to look up a Wayne County Michigan divorce case or review a docket, I have to run down to Detroit and request the records from the records room located in the basement. Not a very good use of time so thankfully the new way is here. The Wayne County Circuit Court now has an online lookup system.

While it doesn’t have electrontic documents available for download, I am hopeful that is in the works. Even without that, it is still useful. I can look up prior divorce cases, personal protection cases, or any other divorce case. There is a criminal and a non-criminal search and it works pretty well.

Now this is something the Wayne County Probate Court has had for a while. The probate site allows you to look up estates, guardianships, conservatorships, and any other probate matter. These are very useful tools for a lawyer’s onlin toolbox or even for someone sitting at home that has a need to look some information up, verify court dates, or whatever.
